Psalm 18:1-2

I will love thee, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

Why We Are Here

Just so you know, I am a little nervous.  And now my husband is looking over my shoulder and that makes me even more nervous. Just so you know.

Here we are. And where exactly are we?  Well, we're not quite sure but we do know that we are married with 2 kids, a boy ('Warrior') and a girl ('Princess'), whom we are currently homeschooling.  Homeschooling is a new journey for us this year so you will probably read about it a lot.  Probably a whole lot. Oh, you may also read about kids, specifically my kids because well they're mine.  And Jesus.  I love Jesus and will talk about Him every chance I get, which is a lot since this is my blog :)  And hubbie - my husband of 13+ years who was also my high school sweetheart, and is my best friend.  Oh, and we have a dog.  I probably will not write about the dog very much. I mean, really.

So, why are we here?  Well, a couple of reasons.

Isaiah 6 describes the vision of the Lord that Isaiah is given the year of king Uzziah's death.  In this vision, Isaiah hears the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?"  Isaiah responds, "Here I am! Send me."  This phrase, 'Here I am!', symbolizes Isaiah's willingness to do what the Lord commands, specifically to share His Word with the people.

For us, 'Here We Are', is our family statement of willingness - to go where and to do what the Lord commands.  To be obedient to Him above all else.  Will we always do this perfectly?  No.  But we desire to have hearts that are willing.

This phrase also reflects one of the purposes of this blog - to chronicle where we are at different seasons.  And to remind ourselves of the Lord's goodness throughout each one.  For He is always good.

So, as we make this journey together, I pray that God will be glorified, and that we will be willing.
